John Jacob Hatcher, aka Hatchet Jack, was the leader of a group of pirates called the Red Cadre. When the companions raided one of his camps to free a prisoner and took a map leading to great wealth, he chased them down and laid siege to Amicus to get it back. He was killed during the battle (Demons of Eden).
