Maya Tennant was an old woman who helped Doc Tanner hide from the sec men who were pursuing him. She lived all alone deep in the mountains with no one to keep her company but her cats. She was killed by sec man Owsley after he blew away one of her cats and then shot her in the stomach. Doc Tanner killed the man right afterwards but was unable to do anything to help her.
